Première Presentation of the ALL Results – Lunch with Scott Murray

Be the first to hear the findings of Learning a Living: First results of the Adult Literacy and Life Skills Survey, presented by Scott Murray, Deputy Director, UNESCO Institute for Statistics in Montreal.

The ALL survey updates and refines the data provided by the International Adult Literacy Survey (IALS) published in the 1990's. The new findings strengthen the case for investments in Essential Skills to release the enormous potential of Canada's workers.

T. Scott Murray is the newly appointed Deputy Director of the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organizations Institute for Statistics in Montreal. He is responsible for the UIS's student and adult skill assessment program. Prior to his appointment he spent 32 years at Statistics Canada, most recently as the Director General responsible for institiutions and social statistics. He is also currently the international study director of the International Adult Literacy Survey (IALS) and the Adult Literacy and Life Skills Survey (ALL), the world's only comparative assessments of adult skills.
